Broadway: a real showstopper

This is fucking pathetic. A NY-area high school has been ordered to halt production of Broadway musical Chicago because of fucking copyright laws. I'm really sick of the copyright shit that goes on, I really am.

Yes, let's wait until it's in mothballs before it can trickle down to that level. What did we have in high school? Guys and Dolls, Annie Get Your Gun, Smalltown. Total bullshit.

HAHAHA! It has come to that. Pathetic.

To be even funnier, let's just pretend for a second the show DID go on, and THEN, the school got blanketed with a proper lawsuit saying they made the show without proper authorization, with the fines explained in the article.

That would've been funny.

"It is a little heartless" duh! Next thing we know, they will arrest people who are singing the different songs when they are going away from the theatre. You're in a hype, loved your night, hapazardly sings a few notes of that one song that got stuck in your mind and two goons circle you and say it is prohibited to do public performance of the song, and fine you 500$ for your offense.

"how about the other 25 people that are in the New York area that also want to do the show?" what about them? The show is that crappy they are afraid of the competition? I'd argue that should be left to Broadway, and left to internal affairs of the theatres on the strip. I would not mind some singer perform a few songs in a night club, nor have a jazz rendition of the songs in a jazz joint. Nor even have an educational event made by a friggin school... or what about people who want to become pros in a school, doing their first public show, they should be able to do it too.

But again, that's USA and USA is now under control by lawyers, we all knew that.
