Smoking ban kills jobs in Ontario
The province-wide smoking ban has cost some 300 jobs at the Casino in Windsor, according to the officials. Are the ones in Ontario and Quebec the only ones that ban smoking? If not, how are the other ones doing? I admit that I have an anti-smoking bias here, but the other reasons for business going to the shitter seem far more pertinent to me than smoking such as the 90-cent dollar and the renovations. Especially that dollar. They should look at the other businesses there that rely on American money to survive and see how they are doing.

Fuck casinos. Fuck smoking.
But yeah, the fact that the dollar is doing well definitely affects casinos' revenues. It's easy to blame it on cigarettes, but it makes no sense when bars and clubs have seen no difference in their revenues ever since the smoking ban.
The fact that we can't smoke in bars made me quit. Being someone who's always going out, I didn't see myself waiting in line for my coat, going out to smoke then waiting in line to put back my coat. By the time I would be done, I'd just want another cigarette! I know it was in effect at the start of the summer, but just think about the chaos at the coat-check when winter comes!
