But wait unit you find out why. It seems that two teenagers decided that the crime of a Hispanic boy kissing a white girl (not the fact that she was 12 and the Hispanic boy 16) warranted not only a beating, but rape with a metal pipe. (I can only imagine the hits I'll get with that search string.) Perhaps after watching CSI or the like, the got the idea that they should destroy DNA evidence by pouring bleach on the boy. Who the fuck does this? Psychopaths. Or is it sociopaths? Anyway, the attack was so bad that the victim is not expected to live. Naturally, I have questions.
UPDATE: Apparently that is done in Canada as well. The 12-year-old girl implicated in the Richardson family slaying last weekend had her name published in the Calgary Sun, although I am told that it isn't easy to find her name now. At the risk of splitting this post in two...nah, I make another post later.
In the interests of those that are at work, images such as the following will be slightly hidden, although you would have to access the entry from the front page.

Although the text here could have been taken directly from a college course on race and sex, it sums up my feelings quite nicely. I often wonder at what the main consumers of interracial porn, white men, are thinking when they get off on it. Is this really how they feel, turned on by their own emasculation? What about the women in these situations? In real life there is definitely a "thing" out there about black men and white women, and from my point of view, it's the white women that are really pushing this image forward. Perhaps for them it's a power transfer thing: taking it from white men and giving it to them, using black men (the ultimate sexual being apparently) as the path to that power. I'd like to say that I'm exaggerating, but I really don't believe that I am. I'll leave it at that for now.
Captions anyone? Why are there two toilets so close together?
Hiroo Inoda, a Japanese soldier who did not believe that World War II was over, finally surrendered in 1974. Another under his command died only two years earlier. Why? This order by his commander partly explains it:
You are absolutely forbidden to die by your own hand. It may take three years, it may take five, but whatever happens, we'll come back for you. Until then, so long as you have one soldier, you are to continue to lead him. You may have to live on coconuts. If that's the case, live on coconuts! Under no circumstances are you [to] give up your life voluntarily.
It is admirable to be committed to your position in the army and to your country, but there comes a time where you have to really think about what you are doing. You have to think for yourself. He isolated himself and gradually became what I call rationally insane. Over the course of 29 years, he lost his men, his family and his whole world. All because of fanaticism and war. Family members appealed to him to come out. Many of them were probably dead by the time he got back. And this is terribly sad. Perhaps I am more sensitive to that these days. I would link to that entry, but I haven't written it yet.
Fucking war, look at what it does. Is it any wonder that people want to put an end to it? We're just so sick of this shit. I know I am. 18 Canadian casualties in Afghanistan in March 2006. 2000 American dead in Iraq.
FUCK WAR.
