I would like to define the term "Marketing Women". This definition will expand as I remember every detail of why I can't stand them.
Marketing Women don't actually have to be in marketing, and they don't have to be women, but they tend to be in that general domain. They are office workers who are very professional, well-dressed and all around nice people. They also do not like direct confrontation whenever there is a problem. Rather, they would go over your head and not get their hands dirty.
Wait, did I say "problem"? Silly me, I meant "challenge".
Marketing women can't ever say that something isn't right, but rather that there is an "issue" with something. For example, if I were to say to a MW that those numbers are incorrect, they would take this as a personal attack. And it wouldn't be about the numbers anymore. It would be a direct and personal affront or challenge (and I am using the word the way it was meant to be used). If a MW had a problem with you, they would simply act as though there is nothing wrong, go over your head and make sure that your boss put something bad on your permanent record. Bad behaviour that you were unaware of, because they never deal with their own problems.
Pointing out problems as problems to Marketing Women are simply not done, because they are trained to put a positive spin on everything they see. To a Marketing Woman, the things happening in Rwanda in the early 90s were a series of fucking challenges. Indeed, they were. The Hutus had issues with the Tutsis. (Marketing Women in government are called press secretaries and spokepeople. Sometimes they are called spin doctors. They are usually men for some reason. Maybe you could call them lower-case marketing women.)
IT Marketing Women believe that they are the crux of any organization. They work sooooo hard and get such little recognition. Without them, salespeople wouldn't have a chance. They like to make themselves out to be supremely knowledgeable about everything, but very quickly point out that they aren't the ones to ask regarding functionality of the product or services.
Marketing Women suck all kinds of cock, and annoy the living fuck out of me. There is no way I could ever befriend one of these creatures, that's for damn sure. Well, maybe one. One that has shown me that she is more than a walking pile of bullshit.
